We got to watch the fireworks from the backside of Sleeping Beauty's castle and it was cool. I've never seen the show backwards. I can't believe how close the fireworks seem from there. We were standing by the dumbo ride when they started, it seemed as though the sparks were going to come down right on us, it was that close.
Another you see from the backside of the castle is Tinkerbell and Dumbo being lowered down after they fly across the the sky. I'm not sure exactly where they go, but it was behind the Tangled restaurant. You can't really hear the music back there but it's still a neat experience if you have never done it.
That part of FantasyLand is usually pretty deserted so you can get on rides if you want too. Matterhorn, Mr. Toad, Peter Pan, Snow White, King Arthur's Carrousel and Alice and Wonderland are closed during the fireworks show.
The rides resume normal operation after the show but it takes a while to get the going again. Tea Cups is usually one of the first to get going. Some of the others can take as much as a half hour or longer. Alice and Wonderland took 45 minutes before they had it going again the night we were there.
