While heading up Main Street yesterday, my son spotted the climbers on top of the Matterhorn. I forgot all about the climbers up there, I remember them from when I was a child. Those climbers have been a part of the ride since it opened in 1959. I know they stopped climbing for a brief period after 2005. It was the 50th anniversary when Mickey Mouse climbed the Matterhorn, and that was the last time someone (or some mouse) did for 6 years. Today was the first time I took notice of Hans, Otto and Fritz scaling that mountain again.
My son was really excited to see them up there. He kept yelling at them from Main Street, "Hey you, get down from there!!!" People would stare at him when he was yelling and then look up to see them. Pretty soon, half of Main Street was looking up at the Matterhorn.
