We were hungry for something to eat so we stopped at the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe and ordered a sandwich, salad and cinnamon roll to munch on before starting the day. We have been here before for hot chocolate and muffins in the past and it was pretty good so we wanted to see what the lunch was like.
Here is the menu for the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, we ordered the hot Angus roast beef sandwich on the onion roll with no caramelized onions. We also ordered the Jolly Holiday salad, a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting, a very cherry lemonade and a large coke. It was very hard to decide what to eat. We were supposed to just be stopping for something small we could all share.
The Hot Angus Roast Beef comes with caramelized onions but the kids wouldn't want those so we just ordered it without. The white cheddar and horseradish melt nicely together. The sandwich comes with a side of really good potato chips. Dip the potato chips in that cheesy sauce and now you're talkin'
The salad is a mixed green salad with candied nuts, dried cranberries, chunks of blue cheese, some red and yellow tomatoes with sweet raspberry vinaigrette. It was pretty good. I like the salads at the Pizza Port better than this. So far they seem to have the best salads I've tasted.
The cinnamon roll was *gasp* STALE! Yes, I wanted to return it but my son actually liked it so I just let him eat it. They did warm it up but it was still stale on the edges. This place is pretty good about replacing stale items, , it's a bakery. Next time I would probably return it but we hungry and I didn't feel like going back in.
We also ordered the very cherry lemonade because we wanted to try it. I've heard it was really good so I thought it would be something the kids would like to try. It was pretty good, my husband was complaining he only got one sip so it must have been good. I liked it, it was sweet though.
It's easy to miss the cherry lemonade if you are not on the look out for it. I almost forgot where it was because it's not on the menu anywhere that I saw. I think I saw it outside on the entrance menu but not on the inside anywhere. There are are also lots of yummy baked goods to eat in addition to specialty coffee.
The coffee and baked goods are what people love to come to the Jolly Holiday for. You can stop and get a hot chocolate and muffin and watch the Fantasmic show out on the water if you get there early for a seat.
