This is a video of my son Jeremy and I riding on the Jumpin Jellyfish ride. We got a seat facing the Pier so we could see more the park when we went up in the air. It's not a professional video, just one I took so that you can get an idea of what the ride is like. I may even try recording it from different angles so you can see why you want a seat facing the park side.
The ride takes you up and then drops you a few times and brings you back down. The view is awesome, you can see a lot from 40 feet in the air.
The Jumpin' Jellyfish ride is located in the Paradise Pier portion of the California Adventure Park. It's a ride for younger guests like my son. You are lifted up in giant jellyfish up the kelp 40 feet and then dropped a few times part way down. The ride does not drop you 40 feet down.
The ride fits in with the theme "Under the Sea" theme from The Little Mermaid ride. The Paradise Pier being close to the sea (Paradise Bay) is another inspiration behind the ride.
Two people can ride together in the same seat. There is a seat belt for each person, younger guests have to put their seat belt through the loop in the center between their legs. Guests under the age of seven years old have to have someone fourteen years or older ride with them. My son is only six, so one of us has to go with him every time we visit the park.
I try to get us a seat that faces Paradise Bay so that I can see the water and the rest of the park when we go up. I like the view from the top of this ride. You have to get a good seat facing something besides Goofy's Sky School and the Corn Dog Castle.
