Embarcadero Gifts is The Little Mermaid themed gift store over in Disney California Adventure. The word "Embarcadero" means "Wharf" in Spanish and is the eastern waterfront and roadway of the Port of San Francisco. Not many people would know this when reading the sign.
I don't think it was a good name for the place myself because a lot of kids can't read it. My son calls it, "The Ariel Store" because he can't read or pronounce the word "Embarcadero." I understand where they are coming from with the theme, but it's not a kid-friendly name. The Spanish name looks a little off unless you know the meaning behind it, which most kids (and adults) won't..or will they?
Look at ya! Look at ya! There's something different. Don't tell me. I got it. It's your hairdo, right? You've been using the dingle hopper, right? - Scuttle
